Circling Back To Q3
We've just taken delivery of the 911 of cameras, the Speedy of fixed lenses: the Leica Q3. It's been out since 2023, and Leica hasn't touched the formula since. It's especially timely given Leica just dropped the Summicron-M 66 f/2, a 660-unit reissue of a Cold War-era Navy spy lens with its own reverse-threaded aperture ring. The 60-megapixel full-frame sensor and 28mm f/1.7 Summilux do anything the snap-happy heart desires. We're putting it into rotation shooting BTS for B.H. Magazine, and it's a fixed-lens camera that makes BTS look like the main select. No zoom, no lens swap, nothing to think about — it’s the most German approach to a point-and-shoot there could be. Three years old and still the one to beat.

Riedel or Die
North Sydney is now the proud home of Australia's first dedicated Riedel boutique. Within, you can purchase Riedel, Spiegelau, and Nachtmann glassware across three floors of squeaky clean shelving, one of just three such flagships the brand has opened globally. The premise is that the shape of a glass changes how a drink tastes — a theory that can be tested in on-site events and masterclasses. Whether you're a sommelier, a serial glass-breaker, or just after a decent set for hosting, it's worth the trip.

Rolex Over Easy
Rolex has done the thing it almost never does and dropped a new model outside Watches & Wonders. Meet the Perpetual Padellone – "large frying pan" in Italian, the nickname collectors gave the brand's 1940s complete calendar ref. 8171. Even rarer is Rolex releasing a watch named by fans. It comes in 39mm Everose gold with a white dial or platinum with ice blue, non-Oyster, running the same Dynapulse-equipped Caliber 7190 found in the Land-Dweller. The complication is… complicated: month, day, date and moonphase, with an annual calendar that only needs correcting once a year, at the end of ever-treacherous February. It’s refreshing to see a new Rolex with traditional proportions, including the gentle lugs and art deco moonphase design, but a bit of a gamble prioritising the vintage collector community over the flashier date-just crowd.
Patch Pals
Levi's and Barbour are back for round two, and this time the collab isn't new clothes – it's old ones. The Re-Loved program takes worn vintage 501s and denim jackets and patches them with Barbour's own waxed cotton, tartan and wide-wale corduroy, splicing two heritage brands' scrap piles into one-off pieces. Built on Barbour's existing repair-and-rewax model for old waxed jackets, no two are alike.
The catch: it's Harajuku-only, sold by morning lottery, so good luck. Levi's x Barbour.
Soho Mansion
Soho House is going permanent on the Thames. After four summers running a pop-up out of Oakley Court – a 400-year-old neogothic pile near Windsor – the group is turning it into Soho River House, its answer to the classic country club (minus the decades-long waitlist) ((plus a members' club price tag)). Ninety-three bedrooms, a 25-metre pool, and the brand's first Racquet & Rowing Club, meaning tennis, padel and pickleball courts alongside actual boat storage and a launching ramp, for anyone who owns a boat and nowhere sensible to keep it. There's an onsen and cold plunge setup for mornings after the Vinyl Bar runs late, and it's a 45-minute drive from London. It also happens to sit a few minutes from Windsor Castle, so the neighbours are doing fine. Opening late 2027, membership fees run up to £4,500 a year.
