Trophy Life

It can be really hard to find decent cufflinks, especially as French cuffs saunter out of style. Enter the mother-of-pearl button-like links from W.J. Saunders. From the maker of some of Australia’s most iconic silver icons (like the Aus Open trophy), these are a tasteful addition to your wrist.

The Chase Is Up

As we’re barrelling towards gifting season (Father’s Day even more imminent than ever), we recently checked out Chatswood Chase for a one-stop-shop FD haul. What really, honestly, struck me was the ease of shopping. Here were stores that you’d have to (artificially) line up for in the city, which you could breeze in and out at your leisure. Next to open is Canada Goose and Saint Laurent – your move.
Bring The Fire

Flame extraordinaire Jake Kellie (of Arkhé) is coming to (Sydney) town next Friday to show his chops at The Grill at The International. The multi-course menu imports Arkhé classics like the Abrolhos Island scallop toast with caviar, alongside Mayura Station Wagyu paired with a whisky-laced potato gratin. Expect drams of Johnnie Walker woven throughout the entire feast too. At $245 a head, it’s not your casual Friday night, but given the caliber of both kitchens, it’s one of the few high-end collaborations worth your time (and tastebuds).

A Tray To Watch

If you’re serious about your space, you know that good design is important everywhere. Studio Henry Wilson (who does most of Aēsop’s home objects) have dropped the gorgeous reversible watch tray in bronze and aluminium. One one size you can flat lay, the reverse has two slots for bracelet types. It’s got an Art Deco sensibility, and a weighty, but subtle, presence. The price is also weighty – but that’s the price of good design.

City Time

It’s that time of year again: Le Labo’s made all of their City Exclusives available in-stores. You can now sample (and buy) scents otherwise limited to cities ranging from Seoul to L.A., Berlin to Beijing (this year’s newest), and more. In my opinion, the City Exclusives are better than their main collection – bigger swings, and bigger misses (the fact they’re exclusive may also contribute). London (Poivre), Tokyo (Guaiac), and Miami (Tabac) are all fan favourites, but just between us I’d test out Moscow (Benjoin) – they recently closed their Russian store so who knows how long they’ll keep the scent around for. Prices run a little higher than their regulars – you’ve been warned.
