Every week, Boss Hunting’s editors spend far too much time scouring the web: in search of the coolest gear, food & drink deals, and destinations worth trekking to across the globe.

In this week’s edition of Good Finds, we’ve got a 3D-printed electric motorcycle inspired by Akira, a locally produced mechanical watch that tracks the motion of the ocean, a luxe red carpet experience for the forthcoming F1 movie, and more.

DAB Motors x Vita veloce Team (VVT) Electric Motorcycle

Pop culture has referenced Shotaro Kaneda’s iconic red bike from Akira (and that goddman power slide) ever since it graced screens in 1988. The latest eye-popping tribute is this collaboration between DAB Motors and VTT.

Initially unveiled as a one-of-one custom job at Latin chart-topper J Balvin’s birthday (who is a co-founder of VTT), this electric motorcycle will have a limited production run. Though the undoubtedly hefty price tag is currently unknown.

Distinctive matte-finished bodywork and chunky tyres aside, the partially hand-assembled beauty also features sound-absorbing foam installed between wheel covers and rims to create a low-frequency tone, allowing you to feel the electric engine reverberate; plus LED lighting hidden within the red shell that emits a sci-fi glow during nocturnal runs.

Bower Watches Tide Seeker

After a decade on Sydney’s North Shore, the folks at Bower Watches decided to craft a remarkably affordable timepiece that married the “formality of a dress watch with the functionality of a field tool.”

At the core of this is a dedicated tide hand that tracks the semidiurnal rhythm – two high tides and two low tides every lunar day. No digital screens, no tide tables. Just an elegant mechanical feature that provides you “just enough information without requiring anything in return.” A major win for subtlety.

“When we started Bower, we didn’t set out to make just another watch. We wanted to build something that felt genuinely useful for life near the water, something that would feel at home on the wrist of a surfer, a sailor, or anyone who keeps an eye on the tide. The Tide Seeker is our response to that itch.”

Bower Watches’ Tide Seeker also flaunts a 100m water-resistant stainless steel case, Swiss quartz movement, tough crystal, sharp Lume, as well as a textured dial for that tactile and grounded touch.

Bower adds: “We carefully selected every detail to make the watch feel considered yet never precious. It’s not trying to shout. It’s trying to serve.”

F1 Movie Red Carpet Premiere Experience

We’ve been to our fair share of red carpet premieres, but the package on offer from Marriott Bonvoy sounds pretty hard to beat.

Aside from walking the carpet and being among the first to witness Joseph Kosinski’s F1 starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, you’ll be treated to a special Meet & Greet, VIP After Party, along with a two-night stay at The Ritz-Carlton (Central Park South).

Later in the year, the winner will also be granted VIP access to the Silver Arrows Lounge for Race Day in Singapore (October 5th) and to the VIP Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team Vegas Club for Race Day in Las Vegas (November 22nd).

Both trips include a two-night stay at a nearby Marriott or MGM property, as well as food and beverages at the event, the opportunity to meet Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team personnel, and gifts from the team.

The whole enchilada is being auctioned for Marriott Bonvoy points. Make your bids below.

Corked with Marc Fennell

In this captivating Audible original, beloved Walkley-winning journalist Marc Fennell takes you through a scandal that rocked the wine world.

As ridiculous as it may sound, more people have ventured into space than become master sommeliers. So what happens when someone tries to cheat their way into this elite class?

Corked is the scandalous saga in the glamorous, competitive, and mysterious world of fine wines. Its topmost echelons are fiercely guarded – and harder to reach than outer space,” reads the description.

“But as the podcast goes deeper, the story takes a darker turn, and this scandal unveils a pattern of abused power and authority.”

“The fallout after the cheating allegations were exposed is our small doorway into a very big story playing out in institutions across the world. Culture is shifting. The old world order is being upended. Is that a change for the better? And are the unintended consequences worth exploring?”
