- Having conquered the skies as a civilian pilot, Tom Cruise now sets his sights on the seas with a Nautor Swan 108 sailing yacht.
- In line with his action hero persona, Nautor Swans are built for performance with the prestigious racing accolades to prove it.
- In conversation with local media as he departed Finland, Cruise simply remarked that his Nautor Swan was “beautiful!”
Never one to do things by halves, Tom Cruise has enlisted Nautor Swan to construct a 108-foot (35.66-metre) sailing yacht fit for the last true action hero.
The commissioned project, designed by German Frers, had been long rumoured within the shipbuilding industry – but was only recently confirmed when the 62-year-old Mission: Impossible star flew himself to the renowned Finnish shipyard via helicopter (because, of course, he did) during the global publicity tour for Final Reckoning.

Reports indicate Cruise ordered his Swan 108 sloop back in February, though it might be a while before he can take it out into the water. Each performance yacht typically takes three to four years to complete, depending on how customised it is, and Nautor Swan currently has six in the pipeline.
Given the client’s profile, however, who knows? Perhaps that timeline is shortened when Ethan Hunt himself asks.
Beyond its commissioning, as you can imagine, not much else has been publicly divulged about Tom Cruise’s Nautor Swan 108 at this stage (pesky confidentiality agreements and all). Not even the price tag, which begins at €18,500,000 (AU$32.5 million) excluding VAT. All we know for certain is that the man has excellent taste.
In stark contrast to the usual floating palaces of Hollywood stars and the monied strata of society, Nautor Swan’s reputation is staked on sleek and fast carbon-fibre hulled vessels, precision-engineered for racing.

The yard’s racing pedigree dates back to the 1960s, with notable victories in prestigious offshore sailing events, such as the Rolex Fastnet Race and the Whitbread Round the World Race.
But that isn’t to say TC will be slumming it. With a beach club, modular seating, and a luxe interior, after a full day of being all-hands-on-deck, he’ll still be able to kick his feet up in comfort.
We’ll let you know what his bad boy looks like once Tom Cruise officially takes delivery (whenever that may be).
