- The Meyers Manx dune buggy has been reborn as a deliciously Porsche-flavoured two-seater thanks to the technician-artisans over at OTTO WERKS.
- Incidentally, the original Meyers Manx was something of a “cousin” to the Porsche 356 due to its Volkswagen Beetle chassis.
- Now, the ties between Meyers Manx and Porsche are far more explicit (and to remarkable effect).
Porsche specialists OTTO WERKS have refreshed the world’s most famous dune buggy, which was itself a “relative” of the Porsche 356 via the original Volkswagen Beetle platform, to deliver a custom whip for the wish list.
Feast your eyes on the OTTO WERKS Edition Manx.

Flaunting an Ivy Green paint job that’s a near one-for-one replica of Porsche’s Oak Green Metallic, period-accurate 356 gauges, two-tone Speedster seats, as well as square-weave carpet, mil-spec wiring harnesses, Marchal fog lights, and beehive tail lamps… this isn’t so much a millionaire’s toy as it is a mobile sculpture.
As you’d expect from an operation renowned for precision Porsche work with “factory-trained technicians and direct ties to Porsche Motorsport North America,” it’s a work of art. Every single detail has been carefully considered by OTTO WERKS for this jaw-dropping family reunion.

Under the hood, you’ll even find a 2.2L Willhoit racing-based, air-cooled boxer engine built in-house by the OTTO WERKS team, and capable of generating 170 horsepower with 160 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a lightweight fibreglass body, you can already imagine what sending this bad boy along the coast might feel like.
Now the bad news? All five examples of the OTTO WERKS Edition Manx have already been spoken for. But you can hit the link below to keep an eye out for future iterations or even, if you feel so inclined, make an enquiry about another commission (assuming you have the requisite scratch).
