This week Swedish EV automaker Polestar announced its second model to arrive in Australia and debut SUV, with the 2024 Polestar 3 arriving Down Under with a starting price of $132,900 before on-roads. The sporty SUV has a lot to offer, including an impressively long range thanks to its dual-motor configuration, swift charging and a respectable 5-second sprint time.

The 2024 Polestar 3 will come to Australia with two different models, the Long range Dual motor and the Long range Dual motor with Performance Pack, which have a $9,000 difference in price for an increase in power (from 360kW and 840Nm to 380kW and 910Nm) and a decrease in range. The Performance Pack also claims to shave 0.3 seconds off the 0-100km/h time, but the maximum range will dip from 610km to 560km.

Itโ€™s already proven to be a popular option for Aussies, with Polestar confirming more than 7,000 expressions of interest have been submitted since October last year, off the back of the well-received Polestar 2. Both versions are capable of charging from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes, boast a glass roof, solid 21-inch wheels (22-inch forged alloy on the Performance Pack) and a sizable 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen to compliment the 9-inch driver display.

The 2024 Polestar 3 also features a number of advanced safety technologies including a semi-autonomous driving mode for highways and the option of the โ€œPilot Pack with lidarโ€ pack that increases the computing power of the vehicleโ€™s cameras and sensors to better scan its surroundings. Itโ€™s not long to wait now, with the 2024 Polestar 3 expected to arrive in Australia by the first quarter of next year.
