Buckle up for the next instalment of our Facebook Watch ‘Lunch Run’ series, where we talk cars, food and a healthy serving of smack.

Jaguar has just announced that they will go all-electric by the year 2025. Upon hearing the news while having the 2021 F-Type R in my hands, my adoration for the car shifted into a strange sense of nostalgia for something not yet lost. Dynamically, it's a brute of a machine that represents a fine slice of the waning large-displacement, high-performance combustion engine era. The R variant is blessed with JLR’s powerhouse 5.0L supercharged V8, making 423kW and 700Nm.

An incredible sound and acceleration so aggressive that it can only be described as an act of violence are only part of its appeal. The F-Type is also a visual experience - with a seductively long bonnet and swooping rear - and that's before considering the $17,000 Satin Sorrento Yellow paint specced on our tester.

This week, Wade and his mate Josh take the head-turning F-Type R for a burn up in the Queensland hills of Mount Glorious, with a quick stop along the way for a bite.

Check out the 28th episode of our ‘Lunch Run’ series with the Jaguar F-Type R above.
