Dust off your paddles and get those stubbies ready, an all-levels table tennis competition is coming to Brisbane. And if you think you have what it takes to go all the way, to stand triumphant at that champion’s podium based on the merit of your backhand, here’s what you need to know.

Hosted at the Brisbane Table Tennis Club, the Brisbane Open is reportedly the premier open table tennis event of Queensland. A beacon for high-velocity serves and precise rallies to some of the best players in Australia – as well as the world over –  there will be categories for all ages and skill levels:

  • Men’s Open Singles (for the more serious competitors)
  • Women’s Open Singles (also for the more serious competitors)
  • Beginner
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced
  • Junior (for the kiddlets)
  • Veterans (for the codgers)

The best part? Prize money will be offered for all categories – not just for the professionals. So taking home the win may very well fund your next pub trip. Which, depending on what pub you frequent, could technically count as further training.

To find out more about the Brisbane Open and how to register, be sure to visit brisbanetabletennis.org.au. Better get training.
