  • Callaway Golf’s putter division, Odyssey, is releasing a limited edition hockey stick putter in conjunction with Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2.
  • Odyssey are also dropping special golf balls printed with “Just Tap It In” and “It’s All In The Hips.”
  • The golf balls are currently available for US$60 (AU$90) per dozen, while the hockey stick putter will be available from July 25th with an RRP of US$500 (AU$765).

To celebrate the release of Happy Gilmore 2, Callaway Golf’s Odyssey has announced a hockey stick putter – so you too can spend a quarter of an hour on every green.

This limited-edition homage measures 44 inches long with a 57° lie angle – arguably sharing more DNA with a driver than a traditional putter – while its 21-inch grip invites anyone to deploy Happy’s signature slap-shot stroke. The face, on the other hand, is equipped with Odyssey’s largest-ever White Hot insert, flanked by two additional heel-and-toe inserts for anyone who needs them.

As if that wasn’t enough, owners can also expect custom headcovers bearing Happy’s name and “Tap It In.” Another gentle reminder that all you really need to do is, “Bring him to the airport. Send him home.”

Callaway has even gone the extra mile by releasing a numbered box of Chrome Tour golf balls adorned with hockey-themed icons and memorable quotes such as “Just Tap It In” and “It’s All In The Hips”; these balls are actually the same ones featured in the upcoming Netflix-produced sequel.

“It’s so exciting for us to be part of one of the most iconic golf franchises and to be able to update the famous Hockey Stick Putter, as well as bring the exclusive Chrome Tour Balls to the market,” said Nick McInally, Callaway vice president of global marketing, in a statement.

While the flat back design means the club is technically illegal under the Rules of Golf, it’s more of a novelty than anything else – potentially even an ornamental gift for that mate who desperately needs to work on his short game.

Both the putter and special edition balls will be available via Odyssey’s authorised dealers and online flagship; US$500 (AU$765) for the putter from July 25th, while the balls are already up for grabs US$60 (AU$90) per dozen.
