After a 13 year winning drought, John Daly has wound back the clock to find himself a PGA tour winner once again. The 51-year-old two-time major champion now plays on the over-50 Champions Tour which, this week, teed it up in Texas.
Donning an unmistakably bright red shirt and USA-flag printed pants, Daly finished the tournament 14 under with just a one shot lead. Like his playing career, the win wasn't without it's ups and downs as Daly finished with three consecutive bogies to clinch the lead.
"Hey, a win’s a win. I hung in there and did the best I could. It wasn’t pretty at the end but I got it done. That’s all that matters."
Coming down the final hole, Daly paid tribute to the late Arnold Palmer with a kiss of the green and a salute to the heavens. A classy touch for the most colourful man in golf.
And of course, it wouldn't be a Daly win without a champagne shower to top it off! Check out the ESPN 30/30 documentary for a full insight into the world of long-John Daly.
