Odell Beckham Jr. flexed his baller credentials over the weekend by sporting a rare Richard Mille 11-03 McLaren Flyback Chronograph timepiece during an NFL game, more specifically his Cleveland Brownsโ recent loss to the Tennessee Titans.
The wide receiver made seven catches and 71 yards during the match, but all the talk after the game was focused squarely on his timepiece.
Not only is it unusual to see a professional NFL player wearing one during a game, but itโs insane to think someone would risk damaging a watch as exclusive as this one. Limited to just 500 pieces, the RM 11-03 McLaren initial sold for AU$278,000 when released last year, but now retail for around AU$500,000.
A collaboration between the Swiss watchmaker and British marque McLaren, the wrist steeze is made from Carbon TPT (for durability) interlaced with Orange Quartz TPT, matching the Brownsโ uniform. The dial features an annual calendar, countdown counters, oversized date and 12-hour chronograph. The overall design is influenced by the McLaren F1, resulting in one impressive watch.
Unfortunately for OBJ, this might be the only time he gets to flex his favourite timepiece on field, with the NFL issuing a statement saying he violated the rule that prohibits players from wearing anything sharp or dangerous on field.
We canโt imagine the manโs too phased, as he can always rock up to games in his custom Cleveland Browns Rolls-Royce Cullinan if he wants to make an impact.
