- In a penultimate release for its 250th anniversary, Breguet has announced two new chiming watches.
- The watches in question are the Classique Rรฉpรฉtition Minutes 7365 wristwatch and the Classique Grande Sonnerie Mรฉtiers dโArt 1905 pocket watch.
- The Classique Rรฉpรฉtition Minutes 7365 is a limited edition of 25 pieces with an RRP of $509,600, while the Classique Grande Sonnerie Mรฉtiers dโArt 1905 is POA (likely two or three pieces per year).
Iโve written plenty about Breguet this year. Not only because itโs the watchmakerโs 250th anniversary, but because the team has unveiled some truly jaw-dropping watches in 2025. From the GPHG award-winning Breguet Classique Souscription 2025 to the pair of Type XX Chronograph 2075 references, you might think weโve already seen the best on show. Its latest releases, however, have somehow raised the bar even higher.
For Breguetโs penultimate release of 2025, we have the Classique Rรฉpรฉtition Minutes 7365 wristwatch and the Classique Grande Sonnerie Mรฉtiers dโArt 1905 pocket watch โ both spectacular chiming watches in their own regard. Yes, theyโre very expensive, and no, theyโre not aimed at the average punter. But the way you should approach them is as statements of what Breguet is capable of when neither time nor money is an object.

Starting with the Classique Rรฉpรฉtition Minutes 7365, weโve got a handsome chiming wristwatch cased in 39mm of the brandโs new proprietary Breguet gold, with a thickness of 10.8mm. It flaunts a truly unforgettable blue grande feu enamel dial, boasting the same secret signature we saw in the Classique Souscription 2025, as well as applied Breguet numerals in the same gold alloy.
Powering this watch is the all-new manually wound calibre 1896, which is equipped with a silicone escapement, white gold gongs directly attached to the case, and a certified accuracy of +/- 2 seconds a day. Itโs paired with a blue leather strap that matches the dial and is water resistant to 30 metres.
While significantly less practical for the day-to-day โ not that a minute repeating wristwatch is a practical daily wear = the Classique Grande Sonnerie Mรฉtiers dโArt 1905 pocket watch is a work of watchmaking art. Weighing in at nearly 400g, it measures a very solid 56.5mm in diameter and 23.5mm thick, features a regulator-style dial thatโs crafted from Quai de lโHorloge gold guillochรฉ along with grande feu white enamel, and is regulated by a one-minute tourbillon.

Also visible from the dial side are two massive chiming gongs that have been PVD-blued (as has the tourbillon bridge), offering a visual reminder of the sonic capabilities the new Calibre 508GS has. Owners will be able to manually set the chiming function of the grande et petite sonnerie watch to either โgrande,โ which chimes the hours and quarters, โpetite,โ which only chimes the hours, or silent; while winding the massive calibre is needed in two directions โ one for the timekeeping part of the movement and one for the chiming function.
Whatโs most impressive about the Calibre 508GS inside the Classique Grande Sonnerie Mรฉtiers dโArt 1905 (and contemporary, considering how traditional it appears) isnโt visible unless you open it up. Inside, youโll find that the chiming function is magnetically regulated for consistency, with the movement containing tiny magnets that serve as electromagnetic brakes to ensure it sounds off at regular intervals.
As a final flex for owners of this incredible pocket watch, the box it arrives in is partially made from Marie-Antoinetteโs favourite oak tree, which was planted in 1681 at the Palace of Versailles, as well as timber flooring from the Palace of Versailles. This might sound like a random historical figure to borrow from, until you remember Breguet worked directly with the French Royal Court and actually made watches for Marie-Antoinette herself.

As I wrote in an in-depth article about the significance of 2025 for Breguet, this year feels like the beginning of a new era for the brand, and these latest releases further underscore this point. In recent years, Breguet hasnโt necessarily enjoyed the success its history suggests it deserves, but if the releases of 2025 are anything to go by, the future is very bright for this storied name in watchmaking.
The Classique Rรฉpรฉtition Minutes 7365 is available as a limited edition of 25 pieces with an RRP of $509,600, while the Classique Grande Sonnerie Mรฉtiers dโArt 1905 is โPrice On Requestโ and is likely to only be made in quantities of two or three pieces per year.
