Partnering with Kiton Ateliers โ€“ โ€œmasters of Italian tailoringโ€ โ€“ Swiss watchmaker Chopard has unveiled the tastefully ultra-thin and extremely limited L.U.C XP II Sarto Kiton timepiece. Imbued with elegance, distinctive in character, with guaranteed mechanical excellence โ€“ this is one collectorโ€™s item that likely wonโ€™t ever become out of fashion.

The L.U.C XP II owes its โ€œperfect portionsโ€ to its case, which measures 40mm in diameter and just 7.2mm in thickness. Naturally, it makes for quite a comfortable wear, as well as one which has kept the complications to a minimum. As per the motto of Kiton Ateliersโ€™ founder Ciro Paone, โ€œElegance must be associated with simplicity.โ€

They say you can never go wrong with black. And there is no finer example than with the L.U.C. XP IIโ€™s silhouette, carved from bead-blasted diamond-like carbon. This is only complemented by the golden dial and Dauphine hands, rounded out nicely by the hints of red at every quarter-hour indication, as well as the hint of red from the Kiton logo located at the six oโ€™clock position โ€“ covered by glare-proofed sapphire crystal.

Even the strap is remarkably artisanal. Handmade from soft blends of Mongolian cashmere, wool, and flannel with a slight touch of elastane, the wristband is lined with red alligator leather.

The L.U.C XP II Sarto Kiton incorporates Chopardโ€™s in-house movement โ€“ the L.U.C 96.53-L calibre with automatic winding โ€“ to achieve โ€œmechanical perfectionโ€. An evolution of Chopardโ€™s first L.U.C 96.01-L movement, the L.U.C 96.53-L is equipped with twin barrels which provide a 58-hour power reserve, powered by a tungsten micro-rotor, and visible through a transparent case-back. In short, beautiful inside and out.

The Chopard x Kiton Ateliers L.U.C XP II Sarto Kiton will be limited to just 100 pieces and retail for $15,800.
