Clocking in at a hefty 46.5mm in diametre, the IWC Big Pilot โBlack Carbonโ Edition is a stealthy take on the huge hero piece from Swiss timekeepers, IWC Schaffhausen.
The Big Pilotโs Watch Edition โBlack Carbonโ features a matte, marble-like carbon case, alongside a soft-iron case within for protection against magnetic fields. Under the metal, IWCโs signature 52110 calibre movement sports its usual seven-day power reserve, which is hidden by a dark black dial and strapped to a 22mm-wide black calfskin band.
The Big Pilotโs Watch Edition harks back to 1940 when IWC Schaffhausen produced 1,000 military navigatorsโ watches. The oversized โB-Uhrโ timepieces had pocket watch movements that were converted to central seconds alongside large, distinctive dials that could be easily used and understood with gloves on.
IWCโs Big Pilot Black Carbon [Ref. IW506101] is limited to just 100 pieces and is available now exclusively at IWC.
