- Seiko has just announced two limited-edition watches in official collaboration with Pepsi.
- For decades, watch collectors have referred to GMT watches as โPepsisโ because of their blue and red bezels. These timepieces, however, are the real deal.
- Available from September, the white dial Seiko x Pepsi SRPL99 has an RRP of $595, while the GMT-equipped SSK047 will cost $950.
When it comes to assigning nicknames to watches, soft drinks have traditionally been a popular choice. And after decades of every red and blue bezel GMT timepiece being referred to as โPepsisโ (there are also โCokesโ and โSpritesโ), Seiko is now delivering an official collaboration with the Pepsi brand.
Joining the fan-favourite Seiko 5 Sports family, enthusiasts will soon be presented with two limited-edition options.

The SSK047 GMT arrives with a blacked-out, PVD-coated stainless steel case measuring 42.5mm in diameter and 13.1mm thick. Paired with a comfy black rubber strap and powered by the automatic 4R34 movement, it also features 100 metres of water resistance and the ability to track multiple time zones โ just like the watches historically dubbed โPepsi.โ
Slightly simpler in its functionality (but arguably more eye-catching with its bright silver dial), the SRPL99 comes in a slightly smaller case measuring 38mm in diameter and 12.1mm in thickness, along with the same solid water resistance rating. Instead of a rubber strap, it features a brushed stainless steel bracelet that matches the case.

What both watches have in common is the Pepsi text logo emblazoned on the dial, the all-important blue and red bezel, as well as the blue and red circular logo on the caseback. Both also arrive in special edition Pepsi can-style cases, further underscoring the partnership.
Seikoโs Pepsi collaboration will be available from September, limited to just 7,000 units worldwide. In other words, they wonโt exactly be rare, but given the level of interest already, theyโll certainly sell out. The Seiko x Pepsi SRPL99 (with a white dial) has a local RRP of $595, while the GMT-equipped SSK047 (with a black dial) will cost $950 here in Australia.
