BMW Designworks Style EVA’s Business Class Cabin

— Updated on 11 March 2020

Taiwan’s largest international airline Evergreen Airways (EVA) is set to welcome four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner’s to their fleet later this year. In a bid to entice passengers and solidify their position as one of Asia’s most respected airlines, EVA is debuting a new Royal Laurel business class seat. Not only have they updated their business class cabin but they’ve got BMW’s Designworks to do it for them.

“We wanted EVA’s business class experience to be fresh and memorable for passengers and to make service, design and brand all work together,” said Johannes Lampela, Design Director at BMW Designworks’ LA Studio. “Our goal was to take a proven seat platform and make it unique to EVA.”

EVA’s new and improved business class section contains 26 seats in a 1-2-1 formation. Each seat is a generous 23 inches (58.4 cm) wide and reclines into a fully flat bed measuring 76 inches (193cm). As well as being super comfortable each cabin offers adjustable privacy panels separating the middle seats, ample storage units, an extra large tray table and a huge 18 inch HD touchscreen display monitor.

Flights will begin late October between Taipei and Hong Kong before including flights between Taipei and Japan. Have a browse through BMW’s business class cabin for yourself.
