Singapore’s Changi Named World Airport Of The Year Yet Again

— 2 April 2019

Singapore’s Changi Airport has claimed the award for the world’s best airport an amazing seventh year in a row, at the Skytrax World Airport Awards. Voted on by over 13.5 million travellers from around the globe, and with over 550 airports assessed, Changi Airport has once again been recognised for its commitment to offering luxurious services unlike any other airport on earth.

It’s the tenth time in 20 years Changi has won the coveted prize, also winning Best Airport for Leisure Amenities. The airport connects passengers to over 200 destinations worldwide with an estimated 5,000 arrivals and departures each week across 80 different airlines.

Inside Changi you’ll find the tallest airport slide, a free 24 hour cinema, butterfly park and rooftop swimming pool, along with dozens of luxury shops to grab a duty free bargain across the four terminals. If that’s not enough to convince you of the airport’s greatness, the video below will surely change your mind.

Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, said; “To be voted the world’s best airport for the seventh consecutive year is a truly fabulous achievement for Changi Airport, and this award continues to underline the airport’s popularity with international air travellers.”

Next month the airport begins construction on the Jewel, a massive $1.7 billion development that will feature the world’s biggest indoor waterfall, as well as a forest.
