  • Qantas Flight Reward Finder helps Frequent Flyers search international Classic Flight Rewards in one place.
  • It’s a game-changer for Frequent Flyers looking to leverage their points to score cheaper flights across Europe this summer.
  • The tool shows points required, taxes, and seat availability to make booking faster.

For the luxury travellers out there, earphones out for this next briefing: Qantas has just launched an all-new Flight Reward Finder, making finding reward flights less of a scavenger hunt and more of a premium experience that rewards its most loyal customers… and it could save you from the first search.

Instead of checking multiple routes or waiting for availability alerts, members can now see what’s available across entire regions with a native search function on the Qantas site.

If you’re finally getting around to planning that Euro summer trip in May or June, but still relatively flexible on where you fly into, Qantas’ new search tool shows all major destinations in the region of your choice, giving you more options to select the flights that suit you.

Flight Reward Finder

After a quick play around today, the whole UI is straightforward and intuitive, similar to Qantas’ own flight search, so you’ll be able to see available classes, points required, and the added taxes for the trip.

Instead of hunting for a single route or waiting for alerts, you can explore entire regions to maximise the value of your points.

You can filter by cabin type and scan entire regions in seconds, turning what used to take hours into a matter of minutes. You can also see the number of seats that are currently bookable at the time of your search to make a more informed decision before spending those hard-earned points.

The tool doesn’t replace qantas.com bookings altogether, so once you find a reward flight you like, you’ll still need to head over to the carrier’s main site to complete your reservation. It also doesn’t show seats reserved exclusively for Gold or Platinum members, so availability is focused on seats open to the general Frequent Flyer community. But that’s not exactly a dealbreaker here.

One issue, though, is that Qantas customers have almost been given a peek behind the curtain. For years, if you were hunting for a reward flight and came up empty-handed, your only explanation was that the seats simply weren’t there. You assumed the universe of reward seats was either fully booked or impossible to reach, and you moved on, points in hand, slightly frustrated. Now, the availability (or lack thereof) is there for all to see.

But if you’re flexible with dates or destinations, and always on the hunt for an opportunistic flight out of Sydney or Melbourne, this new tool is a game-changer.

Some features are still missing, like filtering by specific airlines or journey duration. But the core functionality already makes reward seats much more accessible. Those trips might start paying for themselves sooner than you think.
