- United Airlines has unveiled its โUnited Elevatedโ interior for the carrierโs incoming fleet of Boeing 787-9s, raising the standard of the Polaris business class with United Studio suites.
- Most notably, the front of each business cabin will welcome a batch of United Polaris Studio suites, which differentiates itself with 25% more space and an enhanced soft product.
- Keep an eye out for the United Elevated interiors (which include the new United Polaris Studio suites), due late 2025/early 2026.
In a move that many have deemed long overdue, United Airlines is revamping its business class experiences with Polaris 2.0 seats, along with a very special front-row product.
โWe already deliver a superior international experience and fly to the most places across the Atlantic and Pacific โ these new innovations provide a more premium experience overall, give customers even more reasons to choose United, and set our airline up to grow into the next decade and beyond,โ said Unitedโs Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Nocella.

โWe never stand still and are always looking for more ways to set ourselves apart from other carriers. And weโre confident this elevated experience will take international flying to new heights.โ
Perhaps the biggest change to the United Polaris business class, built on the Adient Ascent platform, is the introduction of sliding privacy doors. The second most significant, in our opinion, is the updated wood panel aesthetic.
The new Polaris seats also boast a 19โณ 4K OLED touchscreen monitor with Bluetooth audio, digital seat controls, and four charging avenues. Along the windows, theyโll be in a reverse herringbone configuration, while the centre aisle will be either herringbone or reverse herringbone.
As for the business cabin as a whole, thereโll now be a grab-and-go snack counter, with treats from the likes of Garretts, Community, and Joe & Sephโs on hand.
But the real headliner is what youโll soon find at the front of every business class cabin: United Polaris Studio.
In line with the โbusiness class plusโ movement that weโve recently seen with carriers like Qatar Airways and the first class-less upstart Riyadh Air, these bulkhead seats deliver 25% more space than the standard Polaris seat. Though that isnโt the only way itโs differentiated itself.
Aside from a 27โณ 4K OLED touchscreen monitor (the largest of US carriers), Bluetooth connectivity, and a companion seat, customers can expect an upgraded food and drinks selection that now includes Ossetra caviar service, Champagne Laurent-Perrier Cuvรฉe Rosรฉ, and a โpost-dessertโ specialty box of treats.
Amenities for those flying Polaris Studio, on the other hand, feature exclusive hoodie-pyjamas and slippers on all flights, Meridian-powered noise-cancelling headphones, luxurious in-flight kits with Perricone MD Cold Plasma Plus+ skincare products, United-branded playing cards, as well as a plush velvet throw pillow on the ottoman.

On the ground, a Polaris Studio airfare also grants access to the Global Reception area, preferential boarding, plus Unitedโs tarmac transfer program.
These Polaris suites are scheduled to arrive when United Airlines takes delivery on almost 150 new Boeing 787-9s (the first lot due by the end of the year); at which point theyโll debut on San Francisco to Singapore and London routes to begin with. Additional flights from its SFO hub โ including Australia โ are tipped to follow thereafter, according to Executive Traveller.
In total, you can expect a total of 64 business class seats (56 standard Polaris, eight Polaris Studio) on each United Boeing 787-9.
