  • Airbnb has just revealed the data on its most Instagram-worthy stays of 2025, with Gilay Estate, in Quirindi, NSW, as one of the ten most popular properties.
  • Gilay Estate first hit Airbnb just over a year and a half ago and has quickly cemented itself as one of the best in Australia, earning a “Top 1% of homes” badge.
  • You can currently book stays at Gilay Estate in February, with prices starting from $654 per night.

Airbnb has dropped its Most-Loved List for 2025, with a line-up of ten different photogenic properties that blew up on Instagram and TikTok in the last year. Within the list dominated by homes in America (seven of the ten are US-based), a single Aussie contender made the Airbnb cut: Gilay Estate in rural NSW.

If you’ve seen misty paddocks, golden hour skies, and a steaming hot tub with a view on your feed in recent months, you were probably looking at Gilay Estate. Set on a family farm near Quirindi in the Liverpool Plains (about four hours’ drive north west of Sydney), Gilay is an off-grid tiny house with big-ticket energy.

With floor-to-ceiling countryside, a wood fire for slow evenings, an outdoor tub, and a firepit primed for sunset cookouts, it’s contemporary without being precious and promises a restorative, slow-living retreat. Ironically, despite its popularity on social feeds around the world, it’s exactly the kind of place that makes you forget where you put your phone.

Quetzalcoatl’s Nest (Naucalpan de Juárez, Mexico)

Airbnb pulled the ranking from the past 12 months of global social engagement, and the pattern is clear: younger travellers are finding places via Instagram and TikTok. The most-loved listings share a few common denominators, including a genuine sense of escape, a distinctive design, and an invitation to go offline without the need for a tent (and the resulting air mattress-induced chiropractic appointment).

Beyond our backyard, the list includes a soothing cabin perched above Washington State’s glacier-fed Cascade River, Mexico’s wildly photogenic Quetzalcoatl’s Nest by Javier Senosiain (a fever dream of organic architecture), a treehouse located on the Big Island of Hawaii, and beyond. However, if you’re unlikely to get your passport stamped for an Airbnb stay, Gilay Estate is where you need to book.

You can currently lock in stays in February, with prices starting from $654 per night.
