The concept is dead simple – it’s basically six fresh dinner rolls loaded up with tasty cheese, BBQ sauce, and of course, the almighty KFC popcorn chicken. The beauty of this innovation isn’t just how it’ll hit your tastebuds, but how easily you can divvy it up for sharing.
Or to not share. No judgement. We are talking about Dirty Bird here, after all. Once we start introducing judgement – or dignity – to the conversation, it becomes a very slippery slope that threatens its entire existence. Just close your eyes and enjoy it for what it is.
“When our fans heard about it, there were pleas to make it available across the country,” says Kristi Woolrych, Chief Marketing Officer of KFC Australia; referring to when The Slab made a limited debut in Ballarat exactly a year ago – causing a frenzy of temporary migration just for a taste.
“We listened to our fans, and it’s now available across all our restaurants for everyone to tuck into and enjoy… We’ve no doubt our fans will go crazy for this new creation – but get in quick because it’s not going to be around forever.”
The KFC Popcorn Chicken Slab is available to purchase nationally from now until Monday the 2nd of November – $10.95 by itself, $29.95 for a feast. As already stated by Ms Woolrych: run, don’t walk.
