  • Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (otherwise known as Knives Out 3) continues the mystery with writer and director Rian Johnson back for the third instalment.
  • Daniel Craig also reprises his role as Detective Benoit Blanc, whoโ€™s joined by another star-studded cast featuring up-and-coming faces and industry veterans alike.
  • Wake Up Dead Man release date: for those of you who canโ€™t read Roman numerals, December 12th, 2025 (via Netflix).

Following in the Agatha Christie-style mysteries of the past two movies, Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is far from the calming beach where we left him at the conclusion of Knives Out 2. The southern detective is back somewhere more his style, ready to solve another whodunnit in a small town location centred around a chapel.

Knives Out 3 trades the flashy private island and mansion from Glass Onion for a more traditional backdrop, whilst still keeping a high-calibre cast.

The town folk โ€“ or should I say, suspects โ€“ include Josh Oโ€™Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church. Johnson describes them as โ€œsome of my favourite actors on the planet,โ€ focusing on a โ€œdinner party aspectโ€ when assembling his cast.

Josh Oโ€™Connor, who found his mainstream break as a young King Charles in Netflixโ€™s The Crown first and then a lusty tennis player in Challengers, has completely shifted personas. He portrays the town priest, mirroring his castmate Andrew Scottโ€™s role in Fleabag.

Although Oโ€™Connor takes up the majority of screen time in the trailer, with a fairly compromising scene, donโ€™t let the titleโ€™s inclusion of โ€˜Dead Manโ€™ throw you off the trail. The titleโ€™s inspiration has been credited to the 1997 U2 song on Pop with the same name.

Advertised as Blancโ€™s most dangerous case yet, Rian Johnson is sure to take the audience on a journey full of red herrings. Knives Out 3 will no doubt become another holy grail murder mystery movie.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery skips the theatrical release and comes straight to Netflix on December 12th, 2025 โ€“ check out the teaser trailer above.
