- Netflix is taking South Korea’s Physical: 100 and adapting the reality competition format into American and European spin-offs.
- As per the name (and original concept), 100 competitors known for their well-developed physical attributes and physique, will go head-to-head in various challenges for a major cash prize.
- Physical 100: USA has not set an official release date (keep an eye out here for updates).
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Or in Netflix‘s case: if you find a highly-streamable format, recycle it to target your largest global demographics.
Given the breakout success of Korean competition series Physical: 100 – which pits the “fittest” batch of participants available against one another; be they Olympic athletes, elite military, bodybuilders, or fitfluencers – the streamer is now developing a version for the US and another for Europe.
Netflix has even issued an official casting call in search of 100 American competitors, which reads as follows:
The search for the new batch of 100 American competitors is on. If you’re tough as nails and take no rest days, click here to apply now for a chance to participate. Just remember: each day, to prepare for the competition, Woo Jin-yong – CrossFit athlete, snowboarder, and winner of Physical: 100 season 1 – ran one mile wearing a 20-pound weighted vest; did 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, and 300 squats; and then ran another mile. Think you can handle a workout routine that intense?
Once the titular 100 have been rounded up, similar to the original, they’ll endure challenges testing both raw physicality and mental fortitude to determine the legit fit from the cry-and-quits. And who deserves the pile of cash at stake.

A. Smith & Co. Productions are currently onboard for Physical 100: USA, with Arthur Smith, David Friedman, Anthony Storm, and Eli Baldrige serving as executive producers. A filming location, start date, as well as the eventual release date have yet to be announced.
In addition to all this, Netflix is also producing a continent-wide spinoff titled Physical: Asia that’s set to premiere sometime in 2025. Speaking as an Asian man with firsthand knowledge of these things, this one could very well spark some fun racial tensions. It’s not like we abide by our own regional hierarchies or bear historical grudges or anything…
Keep an eye out here for updates on the above.
