As we gleefully hurtle towards The Bear season 2 release date โ€“ which has been set for June 22nd, 2023 (US), in case you missed it โ€“ FX has dropped a full-length trailer to preview what Carmy & Co have been cookinโ€™ up during the interim.

โ€œThis is coming from a place of wanting to start fresh and clean,โ€ says chef Carmen โ€œCarmyโ€ Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) to open the trailer.

โ€œThis is going to be a destination spot,โ€ elaborates chef Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri).

Of course, those sentiments havenโ€™t precluded their kitchen from being any less disorderly. If anything, the โ€œfacelift not gutโ€/โ€facelift and gutโ€ has only introduced fresh ingredients of chaos to the recipe.

The Bear season 2 synopsis is as follows:

โ€œCarmy (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri), and Richard โ€œRichieโ€ Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) work to transform their grimy sandwich joint into a next-level spot. As they strip the restaurant down to its bones, the crew undertakes transformational journeys of their own, each forced to confront the past and reckon with who they want to be in the future.โ€

โ€œOf course, it turns out the only thing harder than running a restaurant is opening a new one, and the team must juggle the insane bureaucracy of permits and contractors with the beauty and creative agony of menu planning. The transition brings a newfound focus on hospitality as well. As the entire staff is forced to come together in new ways, pushing the boundaries of their abilities and relationships, they also learn what it means to be in service, both to diners and each other.โ€

The Bear Season 2 Trailer: Chaos Continues In Carmy's Kitchen

In addition to the above, the cast will re-welcome the likes of Abby Elliott as Carmyโ€™s younger sister Natalie โ€œSugarโ€ Berzatto, Lionel Boyce as aspiring pastry chef Lionel Boyce, Liza Colรณn-Zayas as veteran line cook Tina, and Matty Matheson as the Berzattoโ€™s childhood friend slash occasional handyman Neil Fak; with Edwin Lee Gibson, Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon in recurring roles.

Currently, itโ€™s unclear whether weโ€™ll be treated to more appearances from Jon Bernthal as Michael โ€œMikeyโ€ Berzatto, Carmy and Sugarโ€™s late brother who died by suicide, Joel McHale as Carmyโ€™s abusive executive chef from his vaunted past in New York City, or Molly Ringwald as the Al-Anon meetingsโ€™ moderator.

Considering season 2 promises to be very introspective vis-a-vis Carmyโ€™s demons, according to White himself, a few flashback scenes featuring Bernthal and McHale may very well be on the docket with more from Ringwald on the way.

And while character details for his role are still very much under wraps, Variety has also confirmed Bob Odenkirk (Breaking BadBetter Call Saul) will be featured in the sophomore instalment.

Once again, The Bear season 2 release date is scheduled for June 22nd, 2023 (US) โ€“ check out the full-length trailer above.
