The latest Samsung Unpacked global event showcased an array of the expected — ranging from an AI-powered Galaxy Z Fold and Flip; to the ever-capable Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch7, along with beefier Galaxy Buds. But what’s soundly captivated the world’s attention is the Samsung Galaxy Ring.
Unveiled in Paris this week, the South Korean tech giant’s titanium answer to the likes of Oura, Evie, and Ultrahuman promises to reorganise the consumer wearable hierarchy. And according to Forbes, while the sticker price has yet to be confirmed, it also promises to be one of the most expensive.

Though it is worth noting chief rival Oura requires an additional monthly subscription if you want access to its full suite of capabilities/metrics, which is certainly a consideration. This entire discussion, however, is irrelevant at this stage given it’s largely speculative. So I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Anyway…
The Samsung Galaxy Ring seamlessly marries “effortless” everyday wear and comfort with powerful wellness tracking enhanced by the proprietary Galaxy AI (something that’s already impressed us). The ring weighs approximately three grams, while the battery life is around a week.
Featuring three distinct sensors within its elegantly timeless design, this fashionable flex delivers cutting-edge health tracking innovations to a native companion app. The accelerometer, heart rate tracker, and skin thermometer work in tandem to deliver insights about sleep, workouts, heart health, as well as menstrual cycles. Further technical details TBA.
“The latest additions to our wearables portfolio integrate Samsung’s most advanced technologies and innovations, enabling you to take control of your health and wellness,” said TM Roh, President of Samsung Mobile.
Head of Mobile for Samsung Australia, Eric Chou, noted: “With Galaxy AI and Samsung Health driving next-gen benefits, we’re confident our 2024 wearables range will continue to change the game for Australian customers.”
The Samsung Galaxy Ring is water resistant up to 100 metres and arrives in nine sizes/three scratch-proof finishes: gold, silver, and black.

Set to launch in select markets on July 31st, much like the matter of pricing and hard tech specs, there’s currently no word on domestic availabilities. As per 9News, Chou reportedly hesitated to state it would hit Aussie shelves in 2024.
Every other announced device, on the other hand, can now be pre-ordered — the Samsung Galaxy Flip6 starts at $1,799; the Galaxy Fold6 from $2,749; the Galaxy Watch 7 from $549, the Galaxy Watch Ultra from $1,299; while the Buds3 and Buds3 Pro will be priced from $299 and $399, respectively.
