Guy Ritchieโs The Gentlemen may be between seasons, and the Shakespearean drama of Succession has reached a definitive conclusion, but that doesnโt mean well-shod travellers canโt embody the style of these acclaimed TV shows โ ditto where clothing and accessories are concerned.
Enter: premium travel goods specialist Carl Friedrik. If you fancy yourself a Logan Roy or Edward Horniman type, itโs a name thatโs likely to register.

Over the past decade, the Anglo-Scandi label has grown into a cult favourite among frequent fliers, thanks to its sleek looking and tough-gutted designs. So much so, that when Successionโs costume designers began sneaking them into the showโs wardrobe, it felt like the most natural move in the world.
Now, the brand is putting an exclamation mark next to its sartorial credentials; partnering with contemporary menswear label Hackett London to deliver a concise (and considered) range of travel goods. From overnight jaunts to your annual month-long European odyssey, weโd say theyโve managed to deliver a solution for most well-heeled travellers.
While Hackett has previously tapped Carl Friedrik for the release of a Carry-On ($985) and Check-In option ($1,200), the hero release of this latest team-up is the Carry-On X: a variation of the aforementioned overhead-approved trolley, complete with front pocket for your laptop and most frequently utilised travel documents.
Like its larger Check-In sibling (which hoofs up to 69 litres worth of kit), the Carry-On X puts Carl Friedrikโs signature wraparound leather detailing front and centre.
Double branding and use of an exclusive navy/โHackettโ brown colourway are the other instant talking points. And while you canโt see it with the naked eye, each case is constructed using an aluminium frame and polycarbonate shell (a non-negotiable at this budget).

Lastly, for shorter 48-hour trips or even just your regular clock-in at the gym, Hackett has put its own twist on Carl Friedrikโs signature Compact Weekender.
Rather than going for a full calf leather construction, these duffle-esque styles are made, for the most part, with nubuck. An astute choice, in actuality, when you remember that this rustic top-hide is much tougher and weather-resistant.
Just the qualities you need when youโre flitting between business class suites and five-speed convertibles.
