Earlier this year, the Aussie corner of the internet was sent into absolute hysterics when a picture of a since-defunct all-you-can-eat KFC buffet spot gained viral attention.

โ€œKFC. Bring back the all-you-can-eat buffet,โ€ read the caption of the post (see: below), which was shared to the Old Shops Australia Facebook page.

โ€œSouth Lake WA โ€” closed the buffet in early 2000s.โ€

As you can imagine, given the natural popularity of Dirty Bird and the prospect of a near-unlimited offering (the latter only further highlighted by the ongoing cost of living crisis), the ripples sent through social media soon became an ad hoc petition for the return of all-you-can-eat KFC buffet restaurant formats.

Not entirely unlike the classic Pizza Hut buffets and, of course, the GOAT of buffet chains: Sizzler (RIP).

While itโ€™s unlikely such a thing will ever be revived after a fleeting online rally, you may be interested to know an all-you-can-eat KFC buffet still exists in the present day.

The only twist?

Youโ€™ll also have to eat the cost of an airfare to the Land of the Rising Sun just for the privilege.

Located at Minami Machida Grandberry Park, squarely in the neighbourhood of Tokyoโ€™s Machida, what is perhaps the Colonelโ€™s greatest international outpost provides Dirty Bird enthusiasts the prime opportunity to consume as much fried chicken (and more) as their soon-to-be-diseased-hearts desire for 80 glorious minutes.

From classic eats including original recipe fried chicken and those god-tier chips, to more Japan-specific offerings such as pasta, soup, and even restaurant-exclusive menu items such as โ€œSpecial Fried Chicken Soup Curry,โ€ rotisserie chicken, as well as pan-baked potato casseroleโ€ฆ here, I have no doubt youโ€™ll be convinced that heaven is indeed a place on Earth.

The lunch service (11 AM to 5 PM) will set you back an extremely reasonable ยฅ2,480 ($26.29) per adult, ยฅ1,080 ($11.45) per child, and ยฅ540 ($5.72) per elementary school student; while the dinner service (5 PM to 10 PM) incurs a cost of ยฅ2,880 ($30.53), ยฅ1,380 ($14.63), and again ยฅ540 ($5.72), respectively.

This also covers bottomless soft drinks, but for an additional ยฅ1,500 ($15.90), you can upgrade to an all-you-can-drink alcohol package. Considering a standard pint on home soil now retails for over $12 these days, thatโ€™s a cracking bargain.

How. Bloody. Good.
