After cleaning up at this year’s Golden Globes, Oppenheimer is now favoured to take home some major prizes at the 2024 Oscars with Best Supporting Actor (Robert Downey Jr), Best Editing, and Best Cinematography already in the bag.

The 96th edition of the vaunted Academy Awards has seen Christopher Nolan’s historical drama nominated across 13 categories: including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor. (UPDATE: Cillian Murphy has just secured Best Actor, while Christopher Nolan has earned Best Director, and the film as a whole has been named Best Picture.)

But it’ll have stiff competition in the likes of Justine Triet’s Anatomy of a Fall, Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things, and Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest.

Let’s see how this one plays out.
