Extensive renovations on Thor actor Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Patakyโs epic Byron Bay property have been underway since 2016, but this week Hemsworth revealed the first sneak peek at the interiors of the AU$9 million mansion.
Sharing the progress on Instagram, Hemsworth posted a gallery of an amazing mural painted on the entry hallway. The huge wall painting was created by local Indigenous creative Otis Hope Carey, whoโs also one of Hemsworthโs favourite artists.
Entitled Darrundang Gaagal (โthanking the oceanโ), the impressive artwork includes long black lines that ripple across the wall, representing dancing feet, along with blue circles expressing the ocean.

Carey, whoโs also a professional surfer signed to Billabong, creates art inspired by Indigenous history and culture, particularly the Gambayvnggirr people. It took Carey a number of weeks to complete the mural, with the artist taking to his own Instagram account to share some additional photos of the piece and thank Hemsworth for commissioning his work.

Along with the hallway mural, Hemsworthโs mega-mansion is set to include six bedrooms, a gym, steam room, spa, media room, games room and the piece de resistance, a 50m rooftop infinity pool with ocean views.
