I just got back from some annual leave on the Costa Brava and it’s now – easily – my favourite spot in the Med. We based ourselves at La Bionda in the medieval hilltop town of Begur, a 10-minute drive from the best coves, restaurants, and beaches.It felt more manicured than anywhere else I’ve been in Spain, like Mallorca, for example, and in mid-September we got a car park every time, ate at all the best restaurants whenever we liked, and never once saw a beach overrun with tourists. Truly bliss.
