- The world is catching on to Cillian Murphyโs longstanding appreciation for R.M.Williams after a recent appearance on Varietyโs TIFF Studio.
- Prior to this, the Academy Award-winning actor also embarked upon a high-profile global tour promoting Oppenheimer in a pair of Craftsmans.
- According to Sandra Duke, European Wholesale Executive, โHeโs been buying R.M.s for years.โ
For the vast majority of his career as a reluctant public figure, Cillian Murphy has been one of the most stylish actors on the scene.
And while the famously private riddle, wrapped in a deadpan mystery, inside a chronically offline enigma hasnโt ever spoken about it on the record, this has also involved a well-documented love affair with R.M.Williams.
Murphyโs affinity with the iconic Australian footwear brand was recently brought to wider attention after eagle-eyed fans noticed him rocking an unmistakable pair of Craftmans during Varietyโs TIFF Studio. Before that, the Academy Award-winning thespian also globetrotted in a trusty black pair while promoting Oppenheimer.
But amusingly enough, his customer loyalty goes a little further than everyday life.
Back in 2021, R.M.Williams European Wholesale Manager Jo Doran revealed the brand had even been called upon to fit Cillian Murphyโs stunt double with a few pairs during an unnamed production, due almost entirely to the leading manโs advocacy.
โWe actually had a call recently, [Cillian Murphy] was in a film, and we had to supply his stunt double with our boots because Cillian was so insistent on him wearing them,โ Doran told Robert Goddard.
Based on our investigation of the timeline โ and projects that wouldโve actually required a stunt double โ the film in question was most likely A Quiet Place Part II, for those of you who were curious. Which certainly checks out.
Sandra Duke, European Wholesale Executive, added: โHeโs been buying R.M.s for yearsโ
In the same interview, Doran and Duke alluded to Daniel Craig being another A-list admirer of R.M.Williams (โWe have lots of photosโฆ he buys in our Bond Street store and now also in the New York storeโ).
If itโs good enough for 007 and Tommy Shelby, itโs good enough for us.
