  • Netflix has now provided a trailer for its forthcoming historical drama House of Guinness from creator-writer-director Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Taboo, SAS: Rogue Heroes, Bond 26).
  • The Academy Award nominee and serial hitmaker trades the foggy streets of Birmingham for the “back alleys and stately mansions of Dublin” to deliver this surprisingly dramatic story.
  • House of Guinness release date: September 25th, 2025.

Steven Knight has once again made a case for himself as the UK’s answer to Yellowstone-verse mastermind Taylor Sheridan.

Between the saga-capping Peaky Blinders movie (which has since been titled The Immortal Man and hails the return of the Academy Award-winning Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby) and the continuation of SAS: Rogue Heroes; to launching yet another historical crime drama in Disney+’s A Thousand Blows, whatever’s going on with Taboo season 2, and as of recently, linking up with Denis Villeneuve to pen the next James Bond film… the restless multihyphenate has somehow found time for one more project.

The project we’re referring to, of course, is none other than Netflix‘s House of Guinness.

Inspired by “one of Europe’s most famous and enduring dynasties,” the screen legend begins in 19th-century Dublin and New York, immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness – the man responsible for all the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the “far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children”: Arthur (Anthony Boyle), Edward (Louis Partridge), Anne (Emily Fairn), and Ben (Fionn O’Shea).

“It’s the extraordinary story of a family who happens to be the inheritors of the biggest brewery in the world. They’re young and are given the task of taking on this incredibly successful brand,” Steven Knight told Netflix’s publication Tudum.

“The first priority is: Don’t screw it up. And the second priority is to make Guinness even bigger.”

Knight went on to reveal how brothers Arthur and Edward are the “heart” of House of Guinness (as well as the “powerful and debaucherous” titular brood): “I won’t give away the plot – but they were given joint stewardship of the brewery for very interesting reasons. Before he died, their father very deliberately chained Arthur and Edward together in responsibility for the brewery. You’ll find out why when you watch.”
