Today (February 9) is World Pizza Day 2023. And while we could easily just finish on that sentence alone, there are some tasty details you need to get across if you happen to be in Sydney or Melbourne today. They involve free pizza and, potentially, a free pizza oven, given Gozney has partnered with The Grifter Brewing Company and a bunch of Australiaโs best pizza restaurants to give away some complimentary slices (or full pizzas) for today only.
Sydney seems to be benefitting the most from Gozneyโs World Pizza Day splurge. Some of the cityโs best pizzerias have now opened the floodgates for free pizza, including Marrickvilleโs exceptional Pizza Madre, Darlinghurstโs Dimitriโs and Ultimoโs City Oltra.
Pizza Madre, for example, has committed full-sized Margherita pizzas to the first 50 customers who rock up tonight and simply ask for one from 5 PM. Dimitriโs is doing something similar from 1 PM, and so are the Pizza Bros at Grifterโs Marrickville brewery from 5 PM.

City Oltra is doing things a bit differently, though. The fresh-faced pizza-by-the-slice bar will be giving away 100 free slices to the first 100 people through the doors of its new eatery on Eddy Avenue from 3 PM.
Melbourne locals are getting a bit short-changed in all of this. Only Leonardoโs Pizza Palace in Carlton is getting involved in the one-day-only promotion, serving up free pizza from a special menu on a first in, best dressed basis.
Gozneyโs involvement in the World Pizza Day promotion will see three lucky punters served a โlucky sliceโ from any of these venues, entitling them to a free Gozeny Roccbox and a slab of Grifterโs new pizza-inspired pilsner, Birra Quattro.
The best way to keep track of all these World Pizza Day 2023 freebies is to hit up each of the aforementioned venues via their respective Instagram accounts.
