Want a piece of football history? Pep Guardiola's barely been out the door two months, and Manchester City is already flogging the contents of his office. Presumably, Pep signed off before someone started rifling through his desk drawers, but fans can now bid on genuine relics from one of English football's greatest managerial reigns, including his matchday notes, coffee mug, incense set – even the whistle he used for nine years in the Prem. Well, after dropping a reported $222 million on Elliot Anderson, every dollar helps…

Stop what you're doing immediately … and watch this Christopher Nolan edit from The Academy. It’s enough to chuck a sickie and binge the Oscar winner’s entire filmography.

Filthy, Disgusting, No-Good Martinis Next Tues Just how dirty do you like your martinis? Bar Planet Sydney is once again running a one-night-only “World’s Dirtiest Martini” night next Tuesday (4pm to midnight) with a few rancid options. Pic of last year’s savouriest sipper below. All of that but they don’t know how to make a Gibson?

Does it get any cooler than sailing? In June, Aimé Leon Dore competed in the third edition of the Cyclades Cup, one of the last untouched race courses in the Mediterranean. The NYC brand continues to show in up some of the most unexpected places, and this might just be my favourite.

First look at the new 'Avengers' trailer confirms RDJ and Chalamet's "Dunesday" was no joke The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday is here, and the latest instalment in this next phase of the MCU is starting to look like the 5th or 6th season of that show you used to like. Of course, there aren’t that many shocks in there: we know RDJ is Doom; Chris Evans has somehow returned; Florence Pugh can do no wrong. One thing that wasn’t confirmed, however, was the release date – but December 18 (17th in Australia) means it’s set to collide head-on with Dune: Part Three in what could be the biggest box office battle Marvel has ever faced. Doctor Doom will see you know.

This is so sick..but at what point do you just learn how to fly a real fighter jet? BRB just speaking to our accountants to see if buying one of these for the office classifies as a 'business expense'

I'm not big on fine dining, but this has me tempted to head to Balmoral... One of the world's most celebrated restaurants is coming to Australia for the first time. From 28 July, California's three Michelin-starred SingleThread - recently named joint No. 1 restaurant in the world by La Liste - will take over Sydney's Bathers' Pavilion for an exclusive four-week residency, showcasing an 11-course tasting menu that blends Australian winter produce with the restaurant's acclaimed Californian-Japanese philosophy. As you can imagine, it is nawwwt cheap at $759 per person, but how often can you say you ate at the best restaurant in the world?

Next up on new Euro hotels we're excited about... Eréma, Milos This spot just opened last month and has got me day-dreaming about Milos again. Only 41 keys. All suites. Not outrageously priced, with an entry-level suite starting at about 700 euros per night, even in high season. Private pool included. And because it’s just opened, it has availability. Worth a double-take if you’re heading to the Cyclades last minute.

Welcome to The Lowdown. Consider it the B.H. group chat, minus the 200 unread notifications. Hi guys, Jack here - founder of Boss Hunting. If you’ve never worked in media, you’ll probably not know that every day, everyone in a newsroom gets about 100 press releases. At B.H. we're a small team, so even though we might want to cover everything we come across, we just don't have the resources. That's where 'The Lowdown' comes in. This is where the stuff that doesn't need a full write-up lands: watch drops, rumours with legs, deals worth knowing, videos and memes too good not to share - all day, every weekday. React if you've got an opinion. We built the buttons for exactly that.

That's a wrap on Tue, 21 July.Back to today →
