Anyone Else Disappointed With HOTD? Game of Thrones had a TV-defining run but House of the Dragon feels pretty lifeless… predictable plots, linear character development, and no main characters over 35. Somewhere between the overly-archaic language and fresh blowouts they lost the plot of what made GOT so enjoyable: cutthroat betrayals, incredible monologues, figures worth rooting for, and pure shock factor.Or just me?

Irankunda earns his move Whoever said don't buy a player off the back of a good World Cup clearly wasn't watching Australia's talisman Nestory Irankunda send Turkey packing in the opening match. Sporting saw enough and moved fast – a reported €17M plus €5M in bonuses – and now one of the brightest kids to come out of this country in years is off to Lisbon, the same academy that produced a young Cristiano Ronaldo once upon a time. No pressure, mate.

Bugaboo x Stella McCartney We love a good fancy pram here at B.H. and Bugaboo’s latest collab - this time a multi-year partnership with Stella McCartney - might be our favourite yet. More details are coming, but the first drop is slated for September and as a dad of 2- under-3 I’m already sold (but only because I missed out on their Kith collab in June).

NIHI Sumba is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at and now they’ve gone and upped their game by launching the NIHI Racquet & Riding Club - effectively a polo & tennis lounge - featuring what has to be one of the most picturesque tennis courts anywhere on earth. That reminds me, I need to go back to Sumba stat. P.S. If you’re not into tennis or riding, NIHI is also home to one of the world’s best private surf breaks, and a padel court in the jungle. All bases covered.

In case you missed it... the most expensive watch ever auctioned in Australia sold on the weekend for a hammer price of $510,000 + a 20% buyer’s premium bringing the total price paid to $612,000. The ‘Rainbow’ Rolex Daytona drew 60 bids from three countries before selling to an anonymous US investor - handy little pay day for the (also anonymous) ‘Aussie tech founder’.

Aussies are booking out New Caledonia I’m not entirely sure when it happened, but it looks as though we've all quietly moved on from Bali, with New Caledonia topping Expedia’s 2026 Island Hot List – up 75% in Aussie bookings this year. Palau's also up 60%; Vanuatu 45%. It seems the whole Pacific's booming while everyone else was moaning about Canggu traffic.

That's a wrap on Wed, 22 July.Back to today →
