I know I'm completely late to the party but I’ve just found out that Tasmania’s iconic MONA is set to open its first location outside of Australia, taking one of the world’s most innovative art museums to the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, Thailand.Known for contemporary art that pairs important works with exhibits that, quite frankly, border on the weird and obscene, MONA has transformed Hobart into a must-visit destination for all tourists who arrive in Australia. Notable works include the 162-metre-long snake exhibit from Australian artist Sir Sidney Nolan, and who could forget Wim Delvoye’s Cloaca Professional, treating visitors to the wonders of the human digestive system – one that produced actual faeces. Bring on Bangkok.
If you can't shake those 90s “style inspo” carousels on your fyp, then you may have fun perusing the latest Tommy Hilfiger drop. The campaign featuring Romeo Beckham doesn’t hurt, but my pick would be the reversible regatta jacket ($499).
'House of the Dragon' stuck the landing. Which, in the wider Game of Thrones universe (and the franchise’s rabid fans), has famously been hard to do.After launching the third season with a high-budget hangover, opening the first episode with the Battle of the Gullet, the largest battle in George R. R. Martin’s sprawling universe (because it reportedly cost too much money to bookend the second season), HOTD S3 took a while to get going. We had moments of cinema, with (you guessed it) lots of dragon fights – something that was decidedly lacking in previous episodes given the show’s title, and a huge(ly satisfying) battle sequence that the producers saved for the Season 3 finale – a treat for fans used to Game of Thrones’ tendency to shove everything of note into its penultimate episode. It may have taken a whole season, but House of the Dragon stuck the landing. My only issue is we’re going to have to wait another two years for what’s next.
