Inside A Modern Farmhouse That’s The Perfect Hamptons Hangout

Modern Farmhouse

Two words that always get my attention, ‘converted farmhouse’. And with a Hamptons location?! Tell him he’s dreaming. Unfortunately, this Hamptons project by Brooklyn-based studio TA Dumbleton Architects is not a conversion, it was just designed to look like a modern farmhouse. Regardless, it’s a marvelous piece of architecture that’s well worth a look at.

The WE Guest House located in Bridgehampton was designed and built in eight months and employs double-height windows and an open plan layout to maximise fluidity, and the bring the gardens into the dual level space.

“Elegant and timeless, the WE Guest House is reminiscent of an old farmhouse, while featuring clean, modern lines and architecture” – TA Dumbleton

There’s a wonderful blend of classic farm style, with the barn-like structure, multiple fireplaces and use of wood throughout, and a contemporary NYC loft appeal with a truly open living area. Even more impressive is the speed at which the team managed to pull together, designing and building the space in 8 months.

If you’re looking for a more traditional farmhouse conversion, this transformed 15th-century Tuscan villa is the perfect summer escape.
