— Updated on 30 July 2021

American fashion icon Ralph Lauren is the subject of a new documentary from HBO later this year. Very Ralph is the first official feature length film about 79-year-old, whose famous mens brand, Polo, first debut in 1968.

Directed and produced by award-winning documentarian Susan Lacy, the film chronicles Lauren’s six decades in the fashion industry and takes a look at the man behind behind the brand, with Lauren speaking candidly on his personal life. Discussing his upbringing in the Bronx, his five-decade-long marriage, the brand’s early struggles, his innovative advertising techniques and the longevity of Polo, Very Ralph is an in-depth look at who Lauren really is.

Along with featuring interviews with his family, the doco includes conversations with some of Lauren’s closest friends, including Anna Wintour, Karl Lagerfeld, Hillary Clinton, Naomi Campbell, Martha Stewart, Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg, and Jessica Chastain.

Very Ralph premieres on HBO November 12.
