For the past few years, smart technology has been creeping into the world of fashion in various ways, but none to date can really lay claim to aesthetics in the way LG’s newest innovation can. Revealed this morning, LG will be bringing out two new products, both geared towards sneakerheads and shoe collectors. The LG Styler ShoeCase and LG Styler ShoeCare were revealed at IFA 2022, designed specifically to offer a shoe care and display solution that plays into the very prevalent culture of collection designer and luxury shoes that’s still prevalent. Yes, you can throw away your Temple & Webster shoe rack soon.

While the name isn’t nearly as sexy as the product itself, the LG Styler ShoeCase and ShoeCare both look like a substantial step-up for your sneaker collection, geared towards both displaying your precious shoes in a premium light as well as providing optimal care using the company’s TrueSteam technology to soak up moisture and help remove odours from footwear while they are stored.

The LG Styler ShoeCase veers more towards the volume side of things, looking like a future-forward cabinet where each transparent locker features a 260-degree rotating turntable. The modular design helps give a stacked look to the appliance, helping your home look like a modern sneaker shop.

But that’s not nearly as compelling as the LG Styler ShoeCare, which as above uses TrueSteam technology to keep your sneakers clean when you pop them in. In a way, it’s similar to the Samsung AirDresser, just for shoes rather than shirts, suits and pants.

Using 10 different cycles, the LG Styler ShoeCare can make easy work of leather, suede and sports footwear, tailoring the level of TrueSteam to optimise cleaning. LG is promising that ShoeCare could theoretically clean four different pairs of shoes in just over half an hour if set on a standard cycle. All while operating at a nice and quiet 35 decibels.

Given the LG Styler ShoeCase and the LG Styler ShoeCare were both revealed today at IFA 2022, it’s unlikely Australia will be seeing them at least until mid-next year. Pricing and availability are yet to be confirmed but we’ll keep this piece updated as soon as we know anything.
