Lacoste underwear has been a staple of the Aussie underwear draw for years now, but thanks to a little help from one of New Zealand’s better-looking blokes, they’ve never looked better. Announced earlier this month, Kiwi actor and musician KJ Apa is the new face of Lacoste underwear, seen strutting his stuff in the brand’s latest campaign.

As a talented entertainer from a young age, KJ Apa snagged a leading role in Shortland Street when he was just 15 years old (somewhere between Neighbours and Grey’s Anatomy). This paved the way for his role as Archie Andrews in the American teen drama series Riverdale, which after half a decade of success is now in its sixth season.

Now 24-years-old, KJ Apa has also enjoyed success on the big screen, starring in flicks such as A Dog’s Purpose and several rom-com films, which has seen him develop the reputation as a bit of a heartthrob. Taking centre stage in Lacoste’s latest underwear campaign certainly fits that bill, showing off a rig that definitely avoids Parma Night down at the local.

“I’ve always loved the versatility of Lacoste, which is the perfect combination of fashion and sport,” Apa said about his new role as Lacoste ambassador. We tend to agree with him.

The strong designs and functional performance of Lacoste’s clothing have been front and centre this Australian summer, on the shoulders of Daniil Medvedev at the Australian Open. While KJ Apa isn’t likely to be spotted on the tennis court anytime soon, we’re looking forward to seeing more of his work with Lacoste and their underwear range in the coming months.
