Sydney based Belgian photographer Matthew Vandeputte has one of the coolest jobs in the world, travelling around the globe taking timelapse videos for music festivals and corporate clients. In his spare time he takes timelapses of the world around him – and needless to say, they’re incredible. Check out some of our favourites below, if you like what you see, you can follow the man himself on Instagram or YouTube.
This is what it looks like to fly over Iran at night. Looking out of the plane window I noticed all these fires burning. I had seen them before but never got around to shooting them. This time I took my camera and propped it against the window shooting the landscape of Khuzestan in the south of Iran. The fires are – I think – natural gas and oil burning in the wild. I was able to figure out where I shot this by looking up the flight path and syncing the timing of the photos with the banking of the plane. Fun stuff, hope you like it! #matjoez_video #timelapse
