Here’s The Final Trailer For Joaquin Phoenix’s ‘Joker’

Set to be a refreshing deviation from the classic comic book-turned-film script, Joker, directed by Todd Phillips, has just received its final full trailer.

An origins story of Batman’s arch-nemesis, Joker is a standalone fictional story not seen before on the big screen. Joaquin Phoenix explores the ostracised character of Arthur Fleck, a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. 

The film’s official synopsis reads: “A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night…but finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.” 

Three-time Oscar nominee Phoenix stars in the titular role alongside Oscar winner Robert De Niro, who combine with Phillips for this twisted take on the iconic character in Joker (2019). Watch the theatrical trailer below.
