We hope you werenโt planning on getting a good nightโs sleep ever again because the much-anticipated sequel to The Shining is finally here.
Based on Stephen Kingโs 2013 novel of the same name, Doctor Sleep picks up where The Shining left off. Basically, the creepy kid from The Shining, Danny Torrance, is now a grown-up man โ played by OG, Ewan McGregor โ trying his best to live an ordinary life after checking out of the Hotel of Horrors.

Working in a hospice, Danny uses his psychic gift to aid the elderly and itโs all cruising along nicely until he encounters a young girl named Abra. She also has โthe shiningโ and before long itโs RedRum all over again.
While thereโs no word on whether or not weโll cop a Jack Nicholson cameo (whereโs Johnny?), the trailer does see Ewan recreate that famous face-in-the-door scene.
Mike Flannigan, the man behind slasher film Hush and the terrifying Netflix original series The Haunting of Hill House is directing.
Doctor Sleep hits cinemas on November 7th, 2019.
