If you’ve managed to catch Hans Zimmer doing his thing before then you’d know that watching the legendary musician recreate his most iconic film scores is about as powerful as live music gets. The drama, theatre and nostalgia all caked into these epic live instrumentals, bought to life by a full orchestra with Zimmer at the helm, is pure perfection. And while we’ll probably have to wait a bit longer for the man himself to return to our shores, at least we’ve got the Sydney Symphony Orchestra taking care of things with a special three-night Hans Zimmer special at the Sydney Opera House.

Locked in for June, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and conductor Nicholas Buc will perform The Music of Hans Zimmer at the Sydney Opera House’s Concert Hall. And that includes selections from the cinematic genius’ full body of work, which includes films like Top Gun: Maverick, Dune, No Time to Die, Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, the Pirates of the Caribbean, Mission Impossible II, Gladiator and, of course, Dunkirk.

Not all of those will have their scores appear across the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s Hans Zimmer concert. According to details listed on the Sydney Opera House website, the SSO will be focusing particularly on the big ones like The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Inception, Interstellar, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Lion King.
