‘The Big Lebowski’ Sequel ‘Jesus Rolls’ First Trailer Drops, But It’s In Italian

— Updated on 30 July 2021

The first trailer for Jesus Rolls, the long-awaited sequel to cult classic The Big Lebowski, has finally dropped. The film sees John Turturro reprising his role as the ten-pin bowling loving Jesus Quintana in what appears to be some kind of crime comedy.

The reason we aren’t quite sure about what’s going on in the trailer is due to the fact it’s dubbed in Italian. For unknown reasons the film is being released in Italy next month, with the rest of the world having to wait until early next year to see the trouble Quintana gets into.

What we can decipher from the trailer is Quintana has recently been released from prison, where he hooks up with a good friend (played by the always wonderful Bobby Cannavale). Quintana still enjoys bowling and wearing the colour purple, and appears to get involved in a love triangle with Audrey Tautou and Cannavale, while John Hamm looks like being the film’s bad guy.

Written and directed by Turturro, Jesus Rolls also stars Christopher Walken and Susan Sarandon.

Jesus Rolls is released next month in Italy and is reportedly due for release worldwide in 2020. Check out the first official Italian-dubbed trailer below.
