Independent Swiss watchmakers Angelus have announced a bold new direction for the boutique brand, teaming up with Spanish-Swiss skiing prodigy Thibault Magnin as their new ambassador.

Much like the boutique brand itself, the talented freestyle and big air specialist is Swiss at his core, growing up on the slopes of the Fribourg Prealps at a young age. Ahead of this season’s FIS world championships and with his eye on the Winter Olympics in Beijing 2022, the 20-year-old has opted for the ultra-light and robust U41 tourbillion from Angelus to sport on his wrist.

Angelus has been at the forefront of sophisticated, ultra-technical and innovative timepieces for 125 years. The U41 is no different, pairing a one-minute flying tourbillon with the brand’s A300 mechanical movement inside a grade 5 titanium case for unbeatable light-weight wearing.

At 42 mm across and an impressive 10mm in thickness, despite housing some serious complications, the U41 looks sublime on either orange or blue rubber to offer maximum comfort in all conditions.

The Angelus U41 in orange (REF 0TSBT.O01A) and blue (REF 0TSBT.U01A) clock in at a worldwide recommended retail price of CHF 31,700 – excluding VAT. That’s roughly AU$46,000 at the time of writing. You can see more at Angelus’ official website.
