  • Uber has linked up with BMW to offer up to 60% off specific rides within a five-kilometre radius of Melbourne’s CBD this summer.
  • Additionally, BMW and Uber will offer complimentary rides to and from the 2025 Men’s Australian Open golf tournament.
  • Rides to the 2025 Men’s Australian Open golf tournament are available from December 1st to 7th, while rides will be available within Melbourne’s CBD from December 8th to January 11th.

Melbourne summer is all about the world-class sport that’s on offer, and to celebrate the 2025 Men’s Australian Open golf tournament (where Rory McIlroy is locked in to play), Uber has teamed up with BMW to offer complimentary rides to and from The Royal Melbourne Golf Club.

The deals don’t stop there, however, with BMW and Uber also offering up to 60% off specific rides within a five-kilometre radius of Melbourne’s CBD.

While the pricing is already a reason to book a ride, there’s a kicker: the cars BMW is offering during these trips are exclusively its luxurious electric iX1 models, meaning you can travel in style for most of the summer.

This offer of “sustainable luxury” will be available for trips to and from The Royal Melbourne Golf Club between December 1st and 7th, before the party moves into Melbourne’s CBD, where the discounted rides will be available from December 8th until January 11th – one of the busiest periods of the year.

How do you book?

Simply select “BMW Electric” in the Uber app (subject to availability) for a complimentary ride within a set radius of the course. If the option appears, you’re in: an iX1 will swing by and shuttle you to the fairways in silence and style.

It’s a smart alignment for BMW, whose current local push focuses on community sport and lower-emissions mobility, nicely tying into the partnership that BMW has had with Australian Golf since 2022 (and as the title sponsor of the BMW Australian PGA Championship since 2024).

Add a week of free trips to the golf and a month of cut-price CBD rides, and you’ve got a partnership that drives the crowd forward in electrified style.
