Graava Self-Editing HD Smart Camera

Ever spent hours editing footage from your last holiday or a weekend skiing? With self-editing technology, Graava’s HD offering makes the concession that not everyone has the time nor the patience to do everything themselves.

Graava is automatically able to detect what it believes to be ‘the best or most exciting moments’ using a variety of sensors including an accelerometer, gyro sensor, light sensor and audio recorder, while users can also sync with their Apple Watch to capture heart rate metrics. When acceleration is increased or your heart rate spikes, the camera uses algorithms to decide when to start recording, truly ground-breaking technology for HD recording devices.

In addition, Graava’s specs are equally as impressive. The 8MP cam can film at full HD continuously for three hours with Wi-Fi switched off: That’s 1080p at 30 frames-per-second, or 720p at 60 frames-per-second on an 1100mAh li-ion battery, which also comes with a wireless charging mat. It will do hyperlapse at 4K, either 1080p or 720p and with a 130 degree viewing angle and an IP67 water-resistance rating, we think the good people over at GoPro might have their work cut out for them. Preorders are currently available at $249 USD, with shipping dates scheduled for early 2016. The camera will retail for $399 USD once it hits the market after that.
