Apple announced the release of the iPhone 11 to much excitement overnight, unveiling three new versions of the smartphone; the iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
All three smartphones are similar in size to the previous model, but (as you’d bloody well hope), pack a host of new tech and features to make them the most powerful iPhones ever released.
We’ve waded through all the information to deliver you the top lines on the iPhone 11. Here’s a quick rundown on the six key attributes of Apple’s new tech you need to know.
All three phones contain Apple’s new A13 Bionic chip – will we finally get all-day battery life from an iPhone? Only time will tell.
iPhone 11 – 1 hour additional battery life compared to the iPhone XR.
iPhone 11 Pro – 4 hours additional battery life compared to the iPhone XS.
iPhone 11 Pro Max – 5 hours additional battery life compared to the iPhone XR.
The iPhone 11 has a normal Liquid Retina display, but the other two higher-spec models feature Apple’s new Super Retina XDR Display. This custom-designed OLED display provides users with an immersive HDR viewing experience, particularly when watching movies and high-def videos.
iPhone 11 – All-screen Liquid Retina display with a 6.1-inch screen.
iPhone 11 Pro – Super Retina XDR Display with a 5.8-inch screen.
iPhone 11 Pro Max – Super Retina XDR Display with a 6.5-inch screen.
Perhaps the biggest talking point regarding the new iPhone 11 is the updated camera, with the Pro and Pro Max featuring a triple-lens system with 4K video recording capabilities. All three cameras offer 12 megapixels and come with a new night-mode for low-light photography and the ability to take “slofies”, Apple’s cringe-worthy name for slow-motion selfies that can be taken using the front-facing camera.
iPhone 11 – Dual-lens camera system with wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses for 2x optical zoom.
iPhone 11 Pro – Triple-lens camera system with wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lenses for 2x optical zoom.
iPhone 11 Pro Max – Triple-lens camera system with wide-angle, ultra wide-angle and telephoto lenses for 2x optical zoom.

iPhone 11 Pro – Pin code and Face ID.

Apple has come up with a few new finishes to add a bit of variety to the standard black and white models, with the iPhone 11 available in six colours and the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max in four, including a cool midnight green.
iPhone 11 – Six colours; purple, green, yellow, black, white and red.
