American John Cosker is a pioneer in manufacturing high-performance offshore race boats. His latest offering, the Mystic M5200, channels over 25 years of design and engineering experience to make it one of the meanest (and most luxurious) centre consoles to ever hit the water.

With a price tag north of AU$4 million, the 52-foot Mystic M5200 sports quad 600hp Mercury Verado V12s with a top speed of approximately 80mph (~128.7km/h or 70 knots). In a recent interview with Speed On Water, Cosker says he reached 80.8mph at the Mercury’s Lake X testing facility and cruised comfortably at 70mph – topping out at 77mph – with 22 people on board at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Pairing speed and elegance, the Mystic M5200 boasts a 14-foot beam that accommodates three at the helm, with two rows of four-person individual bucket seats behind and an aft bench that can sit another eight guests. Three individual lounge seats take pride of place up front with additional u-shaped seating in the bow. An air-conditioned cabin with a berth forward can be used for dining or entertaining while an aft cabin offers accommodations for overnight stays.
